Disability is a complex phenomenon, reflecting an interaction features of a person’s body and features of the society in which he or she lives- World Health Organization. Disabled people vary in the degree, type and scope of their challenges, yet oftentimes of given the opportunity to find adaptive method, they can perform many of the functions others do. They do the things on their own. But they are not being accepted as a changing way by the society. Nevertheless, whether written with the right hand or left, the end product is the same. No one wants to watch the result and never wants to appreciate the way of them to achieve the goal.
It’s so because we are biased. We are so fettered by the bonds of the usual ways of thinking that alternative possibilities are not allowed into awareness. That is the reason that they are assumed as disable, incapable and can do nothing. They always do everything, they seek the way of their livelihood, try to maintain their social status. Sometime they show the power of resilience more than the normal human being but yet they are not in the main stream of the society. Social scenario of day-to-day life has not been changed so far especially for the disabled person.
According to Watson, “Mind is Tabularasa (empty slate). Training and environment can mould the shape” .Similarly disabled persons know very well that they have not an easy road map for their struggles. They are dynamic despite of  the difficulties. They have to construct a road of their journey. They have to make their way smooth on its own. They don’t have feet but they have to walk. It is not easy to make a footprint as a solid signature on the chest of the earth without feet. It is not easy to get a value of their thumb impressions without a palm. But many of them are rocking. They are really knocking the door of possibilities, the way of opportunities. They never beg sympathy but they need empathy. They never live their lives but weave its. They always think in a different manner and also try to do the things differently in an innovative way. They know better the theory of adjustment in relation of a normal human being. Sometime they develop the very strong feelings to swallow the insult of the society.
They have a great need of societal acceptance. They have a great need of appraisal for what they are doing. Ignorance spoils the ability and appreciation displays the hidden qualities. If they are the carrier of new hope, of resilience power then why it should be bound due to poor social network? The dimension of societal stigma lead their lives in darkness. Why they are termed as cursed, burden, disgrace and unwanted? Why they are not taken in the main stream of the society? If anybody having spectacles due to poor vision, he is cursed? Should he detached from the society? Similarly if a person is walking with the help of walking aid, it should be appreciable. Because there is a lot of endeavours for walking only few steps relatively a normal human being. They learn their daily chores and also they force you all to learn cross the hurdles. Every boundary can cease the physical activities but there is not even a single boundary line which can stop the power of firm determination. No one can change the destiny, it is secure in invisible hands. The hands of Almighty provide such a power then why they should give in?
Disability is the part of the human condition, almost everyone will be temporarily or permanently impaired at some point in life. There are more than a billion people with disability around the world; that’s around 15 % of the population of the planet. UN conversation on the rights of persons with disabilities recognizes the right to work on an equal basis with others.
There are many of the challenges to accessing work and career for persons with disability are obvious, such as physical obstacles everywhere. But the major challenge is one that may be unseen and can, at times, seem almost insurmountable; the ignorance and misconception about disability that fuels stigma and discrimination.
There should be a transformational change by introducing integrated form of society and sensitizing society to maintain equality. The equality doesn’t mean wealth, power and so on but it means that there should be a radical change in the thinking of others. The feelings of disability should be eradicate. They are not disabled but they are differently abled. They never seek the shadow, they are use to sun. Some of them never know the colour of life but they make the life colourful. Can a normal human being shut the mouth for a moment but they proclaim without having voice. It’s not a high time to see the tears rolling down from their eyes because of societal discrimination. But it’s a time to recognize them as an extraordinary special personality. Positive efforts make everything invincible. If you want to make something memorable, you first have to make it meaningful.
